Montagsreihe is a lecture series by the Faculty of Architecture at TU München. The series contributes to a public discussion about architecture between professionals, students and friends of architecture. As a part of this series Aline Neirynck will present projects of 51N4E in the framework of the theme ‘Re-using Structures’.

Re-Cycle Italy

Dieter Leyssen of 51N4E will lecture at the Re-Cycle Italy conference, a collaborative initiative of Politecnico Milano. Stating that ‘the growing cycle of urbanization that has transformed Italian cities and territories over the past decades, sometimes building new networks and artifacts, but more often by reusing and transforming patterns inherited from the past, seems to be at an end’, this conference investigates new approaches of urbanization and urban renewal. 51N4E will take part in the session called ‘Maintenance’, together with Livio de Santoli of University of Rome and Ugo Morelli of University of Bergamo, moderated by Marco Bovati and Andrea Gritti.

The building as flexible structure

Freek Persyn is invited to give an open studio lecture at the studio 'The building as flexible structure' lectured by HFF founding partner Simon Frommenwiler at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston. As part of the semester topic on urban transformation, (re)densification and the idea of flexible buildings, he will talk about open systems that serve as platforms for encounter and exchange.
